Andrew Snowden MP is making a final call for residents to back their favourite local business as voting for Fylde’s Best Shop 2026 enters its final week.
Almost 4,500 votes have now been cast in the competition, with businesses across Lytham St Annes, Poulton le Fylde, Kirkham and the Fylde villages receiving support from their customers.
With voting closing on 31st August, Andrew has revealed that the contest is incredibly close and is urging anyone who has not yet voted to have their say.
Andrew Snowden MP said:
“The response to the competition has been absolutely fantastic. Almost 4,500 votes have now been cast for local businesses right across Fylde.”
“What makes it particularly exciting is just how close the competition is. There is very little separating some of the leading businesses, so every single vote really could make the difference.”
“Our independent shops and high street businesses work incredibly hard and are such an important part of our towns and villages. If there is a local business you love and think deserves some recognition, now is the time to get behind them.”
The overall winner will be crowned Best Shop in the Fylde Constituency, with separate area winners for Lytham St Annes, Poulton le Fylde, and Kirkham & the Fylde Villages.
The winner will also receive the competition’s historic silver trophy, originally presented in 1953 to recognise outstanding local shops and generously donated to Andrew’s competition by local resident, Margaret Race.
Andrew added:
“We’re now into the final few days. Whether you’ve been meaning to vote and haven’t got round to it yet, or you’ve only just heard about the competition, this really is your final chance. Voting closes on 31st August, so please get online, cast your vote and help us crown Fylde’s Best Shop for 2026.”
