Fylde MP Andrew Snowden has brought the Chief Executive of VisitEngland, Patricia Yates, to both Lytham and St Annes as they take centre stage in a major new campaign promoting holidays across England’s North West coast.
The £1 million campaign, All on England’s North West Coast, is designed to drive more domestic visitors to seaside destinations across the region and Fylde is playing a leading role.
During the visit, Andrew joined VisitEngland filming promotional footage at Lytham Green and its famous windmill, along Clifton Street, at Lytham Hall, Lowther Pavilion, Fairhaven Lake, St Annes Beach and St Annes Pier.
The footage will form part of a nationwide digital marketing push showcasing the very best of the North West coast and encouraging families and young people to book their next break here in Fylde.
Andrew Snowden MP said:
“I was determined to bring the Chief Executive of Visit England here to Lytham and St Annes so she could see first hand the quality of what we offer and ensure our town is front and centre of this campaign. With film crews capturing our iconic locations, beautiful coastline and vibrant high streets, this is exactly the kind of national exposure our area deserves.
“Local businesses are under real pressure. Increases in national insurance, rising business rates and other government decisions are making it tougher for many to thrive. That is why backing tourism matters so much. So many jobs in Fylde depend on visitors choosing to spend their time and money here. I will continue doing everything I can to support our local economy and make sure Lytham, St Annes and the Fylde gets the recognition we deserve.”
VisitEngland Director Andrew Stokes said:
“With warmer weather on the horizon now is the perfect time to consider booking a domestic break on England’s North West coast, boosting the economy and supporting jobs and local communities.
“Whether you are looking to connect with nature or revisit childhood memories, England’s North West coast has it all, with fantastic stories to tell and wonderful experiences and products for everyone to enjoy. From restorative retreats to dune walks and forest trails and from theme parks and fish and chips on the pier to quirky museums and hidden art, there truly is a magical break for everyone.”
The campaign runs from 16 February until the end of June and aims to boost visitor numbers, strengthen the local economy and support businesses across Fylde and the wider North West coast.
