Fylde MP Andrew Snowden has welcomed the confirmation from Cash Access UK that the permanent home of Kirkham’s new banking hub will be at 71–73 Poulton Street, right in the heart of the town centre next to Red Rose Carpets.
The news follows the success of the temporary hub at the William Segar Hodgson Pavilion, which has already proved popular with residents and businesses since opening earlier this year. The new location will provide the same full suite of face-to-face banking services, but from a long-term home in the centre of Kirkham, boosting footfall and supporting the wider high street.
Andrew Snowden said:
"This is fantastic news for Kirkham. The temporary hub has already been a real success, showing how important access to cash and face-to-face banking services still is for local people and businesses. Now, with a permanent home confirmed right on Poulton Street, it will be even more accessible, and I know it will bring more people into our town centre which is great for local shops and cafés too."
The Kirkham hub, delivered by Cash Access UK under Link’s community-led Access to Cash initiative, allows residents and small business owners to withdraw and deposit cash, deposit cheques, open accounts, transfer funds, and meet with representatives from participating banks, such as Halifax.
Andrew added:
"This permanent home in the heart of Kirkham shows the long-term commitment to keeping essential banking services on our high streets. It’s about ensuring people have choice and dignity in how they manage their money, while also keeping cash circulating in our local economy. I’m also delighted that St Annes and Poulton will also be getting their own banking hubs soon, meaning even more communities across Fylde will benefit."
Gareth Oakley, CEO of Cash Access UK, said:
"We’re very proud of the difference banking hubs are making. By confirming this permanent location in Kirkham, we’re making sure residents and businesses have reliable, easy access to cash and banking services for the future, all from a central and welcoming location."
The new site will undergo refurbishment before opening later this year. In the meantime, the temporary hub at the Pavilion remains open and available to customers.
