Fylde MP Andrew Snowden was the guest speaker at the latest ‘An Evening With… ‘ event held on Friday 20 February at Freckleton Methodist Church.
The event, hosted by Phil Gough, District Secretary for Ministry and Vocations in the North West Methodist District, followed a previous successful event in the series featuring Ashley Cooper, former Principal of Cliff College.
Speaking after the event, Andrew Snowden MP said:
“It was a lovely Friday evening at Freckleton Methodist Church. I was grateful for the invitation and the opportunity to speak openly with local members of their congregation. There were thoughtful and challenging questions, and some really honest conversations. Events like this matter because they allow us to talk about the values that underpin political life, not just the day to day headlines.”
During the evening, Mr Snowden answered questions about the pressures of public office, local priorities across Fylde and the importance of maintaining integrity in political life.
Phil Gough described the evening as “very thought provoking” and thanked Andrew for his “time, openness and honesty” in exploring the relationship between faith and politics.
He also paid tribute to the team at Freckleton Methodist Church for organising the event and preparing the hall, as well as the team from the Coach and Horses in Freckleton for providing the alcohol free bar.
Andrew Snowden added:
“I want to thank Phil Gough, the team at Freckleton Methodist Church, and everyone who came along. It was good to meet new faces and catch up with familiar ones. We may not always agree on every issue, but we should always be able to have respectful, thoughtful conversations, that is something our politics needs more of.”
