Elected in the 2024 General Election, Andrew Snowden represents Fylde with his constituency office based in St Annes.
Andrew grew up in a family who cared about public service. His parents taught him the importance of hard work and helping the community. He studied Contemporary Military and International History at the University of Salford and was the first in his family to go to university. Whilst there, he was also elected President of the Students’ Union.
After university, Andrew worked in education and public services. He later returned to the University of Salford as Associate Director of External Relations, where he learned more about working with communities and planning.
Andrew got involved in politics by joining the Conservative Party, inspired by local politicians. From 2021 to 2024, he was the Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire, a role that gave him valuable experience in keeping communities safe and shaping public policies.
He was chosen as the Conservative candidate for Fylde just before the 2024 election. Andrew campaigned on growing the economy, looking after the community, and protecting the environment. He focused on supporting local farmers, improving flood defences, and fixing roads.
In his first speech in Parliament, Andrew talked about Fylde’s mix of countryside and towns. He said it’s important to grow the area carefully, respecting its history whilst creating opportunities. He also thanked his wife Caroline and their young son Walter.
Since being elected, Andrew has worked hard to represent Fylde and speak up for the concerns of the people who live there.
